Events

Collegetown Bar Project – Our group provides the patrons of Rulloff’s, the Palm’s, and the Chapter House with free condoms every week. We leave the condoms in containers in the male and female bathrooms, and make our deliveries late Thursday afternoons after our meetings.

Sex101 Workshops – SAFE puts on programs in the residence halls, educating students about HIV/AIDS, STIs, and safe sex practices. The program includes an interactive Sex101 Jeopardy game and prizes, including free condoms. If any RA’s are interested in hosting our workshop, please email lz69@cornell.edu.

World AIDS Day – We typically hold an event in honor of this day, December 1, to raise awareness of this global epidemic.  Past events have included guest speakers, a photography exhibit, a sex survey given to Cornellians, and the showing of a documentary.

Condom Distributions – SAFE periodically holds fundraisers and condom distributions on Ho Plaza and other locations on campus, especially on Slope Day.

Upcoming Events:

We have some other events in the works for this semester, such as the Ithaca Outreach Program designed to raise sexual awareness in schools, recreation centers, and the community at large.  But we are always open to additional suggestions! We also co-sponsor events. Come join us for our meetings!  We are currently meeting on Tuesdays @ 4:40 pm in the Public Service Center (located in 200 Barnes Hall, right next to the Cornell Store).  To be added to our listserve and receive our weekly “minutes,” please email Luca Zatreanu (lz69@cornell.edu) or Peter Hashim (pwh7@cornell.edu).
