Belle Sherman Elementary School
Belle Sherman Elementary School operates two after-school programs for its 2nd
and 3rd graders, and for its 4th and 5th grade students. The 4th and 5th grade
Homework Club operates from Monday to Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tutors work
with groups of 3 to 4 students on math, reading and writing, and social studies
homework. Tutors in the 2nd and 3rd grade program provide tutoring and support
academic enrichment activities. Belle Sherman is located at 501 Mitchell Street,

Beverly J. Martin Enrichment Program Incorporated Academic Plus Program
The Extended Day Program offers a variety of educational, cultural, and enrichment
opportunities. The program runs from Monday through Friday, 2-5:30 p.m. Tutors
work with children in kindergarten to fifth grade. Tutors help students with homework
and academic enrichment, and help coordinate various activities ranging from cooking
to arts and crafts. On Fridays, special field trips (such as to the Tompkins County
Library or The Museum of the Earth) are scheduled. Beverly J. Martin Elementary

Community Nursery School of Cayuga Heights
The Community Nursery School is a family-oriented, cooperative nursery with a
"special parent" of the day who lends a hand with activities and snacks for the
children. The philosophy of the school is learning through play. Tutors aid the
three full-time teachers and help children develop early social and academic skills.
Activities include circle time (children learn about the weather, day of the week,
etc.), arts and crafts (developing fine motor skills), and music . The nursery
school runs from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., however, on most days there
is a "lunch bunch" from noon to 1 p.m. Community Nursery School is located at

The Advantage After-School Program (Super CAT) at DeWitt Middle School
The Super CAT After-School Program at DeWitt Middle School
The Super CAT After-School Program operates every day that DeWitt Middle School
is in session from 3:30-5:30 p.m, Tutors are needed to provide homework help,
enrichment and snack. The homework subject areas typically concentrate on math,
reading, and science. After one hour of homework, students can either play sports
or participate in enrichment activities involving reading and math. Super CAT
can enroll up to 45 children. Dewitt Middle School is located at 506 Warren Road,

Fall Creek Elementary School
Fall Creek Elementary operates an after-school program for its students from
3 to 5:30 p.m. daily. The school offers structured activity time, which includes
sports,
arts and crafts and outdoor play-time from 3 to 4 p.m.. Following recreation,
the library hosts a homework club Monday through Thursday. Cornell tutors provide
homework help and lead enrichment activities during this time. Fall Creek Elementary

Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC)
GIAC is a downtown community center that serves 160 students of all ages (pre-K
through 12th grade) through a host of after-school programs and activities. Those
programs include Homework Spot, Reading and Math Rooms and the Pee-Wee Program.
GIAC operates between 3:15-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. GIAC is located at 318
N. Albany St., near the corner of Buffalo and Albany streets. The Site Supervisor

Ithaca's Downtown Daycare Center
Ithaca's Downtown Daycare Center (IACC) is an after-school program that operates
everyday from 2 to 6 p.m. The program provides tutoring and academic enrichment
for students in kindergarten through the fifth grade. After children complete
homework assignments, they are allowed to engage in artistic and recreational
activities. IACC Daycare Center is located at 315 N Cayuga St., Ithaca. The Site

Northside Community Center
The Northside After-School program offers tutors an opportunity to provide academic
assistance to children in grades K-9 who live in the Northside housing development.
The program is housed in the Northside Community Center (625 Hancock Street) and
runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 pm. To get there, take the number 10
bus to Seneca Street. From the Seneca Street stop, in front of the parking garage,
board the number 13 bus to Hancock Street and Third Street. The community center

Parkside Gardens
The after-school and enrichment program at Parkside Gardens is administered by
the Urban 4-H Program at Cornell Cooperative Extension. The program operates out
of a small community center that serves no more than 15 children and youth at
a time. Urban 4-H provides a structure that nurtures social & life skills,
offers community exposure, provides tutoring & mentoring, and creates several
opportunities for personal growth and development. Urban 4-H, in all its programs,
aims to meet the needs of underrepresented youth in the City of Ithaca by providing
a supportive environment. Parkside is located off of Rt. 13, past Wegmans. The

Southside Community Center
Southside Community Center Inc. fosters cultural awareness among African American
residents through educational, political and social activities. The Southside
is located at 305 S. Plain St. in downtown Ithaca. The Site Supervisor is Stel

West Village Community Center
West Village Community Center is a 4-H program established at West Village, a
low-income housing community where a large number of immigrant families live.
The program runs Monday through Thursday 3-5:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays are
designated for older students, 8-12 years old, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are
for 5-8 year olds. Each day students spend one hour doing homework. For the second
half of the program, the students take part in athletic, artistic, or academic
enrichment activities. Because 10-12 kids attend daily, only three tutors staff
the program. To get there, take State St. all the way to Rt. 13 A. Make a left
onto 13A and then an immediate right up Elm St. Follow Elm St. about a quarter
of a mile to West Village Apartments on the left. (5 minutes from campus). The
