About the Program
Goals:
- Education: to support the academic achievement of pre-K-9th grade children and
youth by recruiting and supporting university students that provide academic support
services in schools and after-school sites
- Community Capacity-Building: to support the capacity of sites to meet the increasing
academic needs of children and youth through the recruitment and management of
ARC/ACC tutors throughout the academic year as well as provide material resources
to sites, and
- Student Development: to increase the civic engagement of university students
resulting in the integration of service-learning into their academic experience
as well as an increasing sense of civic responsibility.
