About the Local Nursing Homes
Lakeside Nursing and
Rehabilitation
Center
Lakeside provides numerous services for
their residents, such as rehabilitation, transitional care for patients coming
out of a hospital, respite care for those in need of a short-term home, skin
and wound care, hospice services, and dementia care. They organize daily
activities for the residents to keep their minds and bodies active, and to
allow them to socialize with other residents of the home. These activities
include games, movies, social gatherings, and visits from local musicians and
craftspeople.
Lakeside also houses a variety
of domestic pets, such as birds, fish, and rabbits, for the enjoyment of the
residents. Because of the
CEP
Garden Project,
Lakeside
residents now have a beautiful garden in which to enjoy the outdoors and get
some fresh air.

Beechtree
Care
Center
Beechtree is a non-profit nursing home with separate units for
rehabilitation and dementia. The main goal of the rehabilitation unit is to
allow the resident to return home to a safe and productive life. The treatment
plan can include physical
therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy. The home is located in the
heart of
Ithaca,
which allows residents to make accompanied visits to local shopping areas and
events on the Commons. One of the main objectives of Beechtree is to keep the
residents active and socially involved. They host daily activities, such as
exercise programs, reading, cooking, arts and crafts, religious services, and
movies.
