About the Program
Together's mentors seek to better understand why a patient's
management may or may not be working.
If we can better understand the daily struggles that accompany life with a chronic
disease, we can help children with chronic diseases come up with ways to better
intergrate chronic disease managment to gain experience working with patients
and doctors in a safe and supportive setting. The patient, who has the opportunity
to participate in an encouraging mentoring experience, is given a break from the
struggles of life with a chronic disease and an opportunity to talk with a younger
adult in a friendly and less intimidating setting.
