Getting Involved

Into the Streets Day

The Public Service Center offers many opportunities for involvement. Whether locally, nationally or internationally, we strive to offer you ways to become connected or to gather more information.

Project Coordinators are available to assist in finding the best service opportunity for you, whether it be through one-on-one matches or directing you toward student volunteer groups and projects.

Internship Opportunities

Imagine impacting the community while enhancing your professional skills and abilities. Internship opportunities are available in a wide range of subject areas that allow you to apply concepts from the classroom to real world situations. Positions are available in marketing and public relations, program development, and video production, just to name a few.

Volunteering Through PSC Student Programs

Imagine joining a campus group that effects positive change on our campus, in our community, and throughout the world.

Local/Tompkins County Opportunities

Imagine spending several hours a week connecting with the Ithaca community. Get off campus: give a child a chance at education; be a friend to an elderly resident; advocate on behalf of women or the disabled.

Opportunities Beyond Ithaca

Imagine using the experiences, knowledge, and skills gained through your college experience to live a life committed to effecting social change throughout the United States and the world.

Job Opportunities

Imagine using your work study award to work with professionals in fields such as child care, mental health, environmental conservation, eldercare, women's and children's advocacy, engineering/public works, and the local schools.

Projects

Imagine launching a project that addresses a need you've noticed and about which you feel strongly. Center staff and student project coordinators are available to advise individuals and groups on funding, partnerships, and other areas related to initiating a project.

Service-Learning Courses

Imagine impacting your community while applying your academic knowledge to practical application.
