Description: The Adult Sexual Addault Counselor/Advocate will work with adults
impacted by rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment as a primary service population,
and will provide services to our domestic violence and youth sexual abuse program
clients as needed. Client services are provided one on one and through support
groups. The Counselor .Advocate will provide telephone and in-person crisis and
ongoing support services for clients, accompaniment to services such as hospital
based SANE sxams, accompaniment to meetings with law enforcement and prosecutors,
and court accompaniment. The Counselor/Advocate will attend meetings of a mult-disciplinary
case review team as needed. The Counselor/Advocate will share in the coverage
of after-hours on call (nights, weekends and holiday shifts). As funding permits,
after-hours coverage will be paid. The Counselor/Advocate will promote the services
of the adult sexual assault programming of the agency by collaborating with the
Education Department on public events, and by reaching out to and working with
staff, students advisors and students at Cornell University, Ithaca College and
Tompkins Cortland Community College.

Opportunity: Emergency Management Intern - GIS Data Project

Description: This project will result in a digital map crucial to the Fire Department's
ability to respond to disasters and other emergencies. The data will be used to
pre-plan for emergencies, respond to and recover from emergencies as well as mitigating
their impact on the residents of the community. Student will work with the GIS
Administrator to design a methodology for collecting data in the field on the
existence and location of knox boxes and stand pipes which are used in fighting
fires. Student will GPS locate and describe these features on the map using ArcGIS
software. Project may include other GIS tasks such as mapping as time allows.
Good work habits, attention to detail and being independently responsible for
the quality of the work are required. Special requirements: Must be familiar with
ArcGIS or MapInfo software or working knowledge of CAD software or GPS collection
