At registration on Sunday, August 16th, you will be asked to sign up for a service site. POST Team Leaders have been working to develop projects that address issues specific to the Tompkins County community. Issue based Day occurs on Wednesday and it provides a couple of opportunities— as a participant you will have the opportunity to choose a site and issue area that interests you and Teams get mixed up on this day so it allows you the chance to work with other Team Leaders and participants for the day. On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday you’ll work with your assigned Team at projects sites that have already been scheduled and assigned.
Agency staff will lead conversations exploring some of the root causes related to the issue and project, and how you can become involved in similar volunteer efforts while at Cornell. Your Team Leader’s for the day will also have additional information about on and off-campus organizations and courses that are relevant to this issue. Unfortunately, sites may close out due to interest and we cannot guarantee that your first preference will be available.
